Rain - June 2006
Let it weep
Weep for you
The rain pouring
Down your lonely face
Tears will not come
So let them fall
Fall from the sky
Into your eyes
Beware lightning’s illumination
It reveals more
More than one should see
Exposing the exposed
I caution against the luminosity
Of memories & faces
Their light is blinding
So linger here with care
The overhanging branch
Lashed you across the face
Sending down a shower
Of beaded droplets—oh memory…
Pardon me, as I leave
To wander here
And there, wondering
Why I cannot find you
Weep for you
The rain pouring
Down your lonely face
Tears will not come
So let them fall
Fall from the sky
Into your eyes
Beware lightning’s illumination
It reveals more
More than one should see
Exposing the exposed
I caution against the luminosity
Of memories & faces
Their light is blinding
So linger here with care
The overhanging branch
Lashed you across the face
Sending down a shower
Of beaded droplets—oh memory…
Pardon me, as I leave
To wander here
And there, wondering
Why I cannot find you
